On Friday, Rutongo Mines celebrated the first graduation of children from Rutongo ECD (Early Childhood Development Center) in partnership with Isooko Community Center. The Isooko ECD center has been of considerable impact on Rutongo women miners, as they provide a safe place to leave their children every day going to work.
Rutongo Mines is committed to empowering women, however, sometimes finding work can be challenging for women without compromising their children’s safety. It is in this regards Rutongo Mines stepped in and partnered with Isooko Community Center and Strong Family Strong society to build ECDs enabling more women to fine work while their children receive quality early childhood education and care.
